The Xeridell occupational workshop is an entity with nearly thirty years of experience that aims at improving the quality of life of disabled people who do not have access to a work environment in the community. This project is carried out by the Nostra Senyora de Meritxell Special Needs School (EENSM), an entity that received in 1998 the BPA Solidaritat Award, an award for solidarity initiatives which in 2008 became part of the Fundació Privada BPA’s project.

In 2007, the EENSM and the Fundació Privada BPA signed a cooperation agreement to promote the Xeridell Occupational Workshop and to consolidate this project of enabling disabled people to have access to a work and social environment.

With this aim, the collaboration of the Fundació Privada BPA and the Xeridell Occupational Workshop is not limited to economic matters and includes technical advice and experience of BPA professionals. This agreement has allowed to widen in the range of labour and socio-entertainment activities, and to promote the evolution of the work done and the reorganization of tasks in order to adapt them to the professional profile of each user.

The cooperation between the Fundació Privada BPA and the Xeridell Workshop includes the following actions:

• Promotional and support activities to the production lines to boost the screen-printing and manual activities workshop.
• Actions aimed at users.
• Actions aimed at teachers.
• Aging prevention programme.
